I am proud of all of you. I now am sure that it is not just my mom and dad and obsessive friends pressing on the reload button. If it is I love you for it. :)
Feel free to comment on this blog if you have any questions or anything you would like me to show you with words or pictures.
Now that it's warm out, I can bike around and get easily to Copenhagen and other cities. Let me know what you want to see. I'll upload my trip to the train station soon so you can see what the scenery looks like. That'll come up on youtube at some point and I'll add the link here.
I love you all, thanks for the birthday wish, from those of you I got them from :)

Time Well Spent
Yesterday was a national holiday that translates as Holy PRayeR Day. My family went to a comfoRmation and I was left home all day to do what I like. I had no idea what I was gonna do, maybe jump on the tRampoline and watch a movie. But then my host mother showed me the aRt supplies in the basement and said I could use what I wanted. I went cRazy and gRabbed all my own stuff from my Room and headed foR the basement. Once my music was up and Running, I set to woRk on something I had been trying to figure out how to do foR months. Now that I had all the supplies I need, I could get staRted. I alReady had all the stencils cut out long befoRe. Below aRe pictuRes of what I finished in 3 houRs of therapeutic painting. I only wish I could bRing them back with me, but unfoRtunately they aRe too big. Maybe they can find a good home somewheRe in DenmaRk, pReferably with some extra money in my pocket. ;-)
the coloRs didn't tuRn out as vibrant in the pictuRe.
the coloRs in this pictuRe aRe a bit dull. A lot shinier with copper and gold coloRs than shown.

Happy Birthday Nikolai
Saturday was my host brother's birthday party. Aunts, Uncles and cousins came over and had dinner with us. Everyone came at 3 and we have cake and coffe and tea, then we played a bunch of different games outside in the yard with groups. After dinner, the cousins all played a boards game called LOGO. We watched Friends when the game was over, till they had to go home. It was fun to see how the Danes do birthdays. It's certainly different from what I normally do.
The moRning of his biRthday, we woke him up eaRly and he got his gifts then.
soRRy about the Rs, my keyboaRd is bRoke.

Louisiana
I know this is the name of a state in the US, but it is also the name of one of the best museums in Denmark. I was there with my host Grandmother and her sister on Sunday. The current exhibit is Pop Art featuring Andy Warhol. There was also a fantastick artist I couldn't remember hearing of before named Tara Donovan.
the endless (bigger on the inside) mirror light room. {oh Doctor, we know your trick now}
Host Grandma in front of my favorite painting in Louisiana.
MEERKAT!!! with a minecraft chair.
MEERKAT!!! in front of some great sculpture I remember from my Danish side of childhood.
Coral made of buttons, from Tara Donovan. Tara Donovan is a artist who makes extraordinary scuptures from ordinary materials. More pictures are on Facebook.

Overdue Update - Jylland pics
A lot has been going on since my last post. For Easter break we drove up to Jylland to visit my family's grandparents and cousins. Then we driver further up to the northern most part of Denmark and to the summer house they have up there. We stayed there for a few days while Nikolai was playing in a handball turnament in central Jylland.
When we got back, Kristine and I started school again, but Nikolai did not. The elemetary school teachers were all locked-out due to a conflict with salary and union rights. It is reminding me a lot of Madison, except they are not allowed to protest, and instead of the teachers taking a stand, the government just locked them out before they could do anything. So there's not as much a sence of community with everyone, like there was in Madison.
Today I went shopping in Copenhagen with Kristine and her older sister, Malene. We were shopping for their brother/ my host brother, Nikolai. It's his birthday on the 14th.
There are 4 birthdays this April that I know of in Denmark. Nikolai(14th), my Grandma (19th), my friends Caroline's (28th), then mine (30th). My friend Meg's is two days after mine in May, and so we are hosting a party together at my house the weekend before our birthdays. The weekend after is the final party at Borupgaard School. I am very excited for all the happenings this April. It's going to be full and fun.
The gRandpaRents house in Jylland, the two little cousins. The family from my host dad's side aRe all very sweet.
The Rainbow walkway in Ã…Rhus. Very cool and all the aRt inside the building was amazing as well.

We saw the noRthern most point, the sand fields, the paRking lot, the waR bunkers and the noRthern most old chuRch. I got tiRed, and it was a lot of walking, but it was woRth it. The whole day was beautiful.
